Discontinuation of AP Exams |

The College Board announced this past spring the discontinuation of three AP courses after their May 2009 exam administrations: AP Computer Science AB, AP French Literature, and AP Latin Literature.
The College Board writes: In response to concerns we heard from AP teachers about the impact this decision could have to other courses in the discipline, we have sent a letter to principals explaining the decision and providing recommendations for ways that schools can realign their programs to best serve students who study these disciplines. This letter is being mailed to principals at schools that offer these courses, as well as district officials who participate in the course audit. It will arrive this week and early next week. Teachers are being advised of the letter through APCentral (available now), electronic discussion groups (later this week), and AP teacher newsletters (later this month). A copy of the letter is available online. |
