The MIWLA holds an annual conference in cooperation with the Michigan Department of Education and other professional organizations. Your membership in the MIWLA helps to strengthen world language programs though the efforts of a unified profession, allows you to participate in MIWLA workshops and conferences, and includes a year's subscription for the MIWLA Messenger. To join the MIWLA, you may join immediately online or complete and mail the Membership Application, and mail it with your annual dues to the Executive Treasurer. Become a member today!  | Representation, support and visibility for the world language teaching profession, elementary through graduate school, at the state and federal government levels, and through the media.
|  | Conferences and workshops, meetings, exhibits, and nationally recognized speakers. The MIWLA conference is successful because of its strong backbone of volunteers. If you would like to become a volunteer in the MIWLA, complete the Volunteer Form and submit by mail or complete the online form (available soon). The MIWLA could use your 10 minutes as well as your 10 hours!
|  | Publication of a semi-annual Newsletter featuring articles by and for world language teachers, along with other information pertaining to the world language profession, including current information.
|  | Representation of Michigan world language teachers at the Central States Conference on the Teaching of world Languages, Northeast Conference on the Teaching of world Languages, The American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages and the Joint National Committee for Languages.
|  | Support for The American Association of Teachers of French, The American Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese, The Michigan Classical Conference, The American Association of Teachers of German, The American Association of Slavic and East European Languages and The American Association of Teachers of Italian.
